My weekend in pictures 12/8/2011-12/11/2011

It was a great weekend!  The biggest thing was the cookie exchange at my Aunt Kellys.  We spent all day Friday baking and most of the day on Saturday at the party.  There was so much that happened... I think it's best just to dive right in to the pictures!

 We were sneaking.
 Baking like a beast!

Lindsey made these tags for her cookies for Kelly's cookie exchange on my computer.  I turned my back for one minute and she changed the text on my little tags to what you see below.
 "Logans a skankface cookies"
The original tags she made had a gold trophy on the bottom right hand side.  She may be a little full of herself.
 Mom mom mom.
I had a lot to teach Lindsey about baking.  Yet she still beat me.  Maybe I shouldn't have helped so much?
 Aren't we adorable?
Please notice the tape dispenser that Bop has on her wrist.  Haha.
I am so happy that this year (over the past 3 years) I was actually able to be at my Aunt Kelly's cookie exchange.  I had so much fun!
I really don't like making cookies, but I do enjoy making cupcakes.  They look good don't they?

The foil on this Santa's face was folded over so it looked like he was winking.
Robin made this amazing chocolate/coffee/ice cream-ish punch stuff.  So good!
Cookie tasting plates.  This was a moment of genius on my Moms part.  Everyone puts in a cookie for the regular judging and one for bakers choice.  Apparently normally they pass around a plate and everyone takes a little bite of each cookie... but that seems unsanitary.  So we numbered these plates and put a little piece of each cookie on them.

Zach, Me, Casey,  Lindsey, Anna, Kassie, Lexie
 Mom and Aleta
 Ruthie, Me, Lindsey

 Robin and Lindsey
 Winners!
I was the guy who had to push the buttons on all of the cameras so the instant timers would start.  Then I had to run and get into the picture.  Look how well it turned out...

Lucas helped pass out cookies to everyone.  He's so adorable.

Lexie treated us all to some excellent piccolo music.

Lucas held up her sheet music for her.  So cute.
It was a great weekend and we topped it all off with the White House Christmas 2011 HGTV special.  I love it so much.

Have a great week!

My weekend in pictures 12/2/2011-12/4/2011

I have eaten so much chocolate today that it's almost incomprehensible.  I have this stash and I have kept it on reserve for a really stressful time.  I'm not even that stressed but the flood gates have opened.  I disgress-- this is the first weekend since I moved to Grandview that I haven't gone home for the weekend.  I don't really know how I feel about that.  I do, however, know that I am excited for this coming weekend and the many holiday events on the horizon.  This weekends pictures are a little sparse... but I want to share them with you anyway.
(In my Oprah voice: "Here we go!!!")

Friday I went to see the movie Contagion with a friend.  It was a really good movie and I was thankful I am already a pretty clean person.  My favorite line from the whole movie was "Stop touching your face."  Haha.  I took a handful of Hershey's kisses with me.  I think this is what started my weekend-o-chocolate.  (There are no depictions here of the number of fudgesicles I ate this weekend.  For a reason.)
Saturday I submitted my final paper for my English (cannibalism) class.  I need a 99 on this paper to get an A in the class.  I'm celebrating my B.
Remember in an earlier post (last weeks) when I put the chicken breasts into Zip-loc baggies?  Well it's perfect.  You can use the baggie to discard all of your scarps of undesirable pieces.  Woo.
For dinner on Saturday I made baked chicken nuggets (I used crushed up white cheddar cheese-its and some panko for the breading) and roasted garlic potatoes.  Yum.  Next time I will make sure the breading it really crushed up finely.
I cam across this site where you match a criminal with their alleged crime/implement/hobby/career.  I got 5 out of 5 correct.  Please notice the women who harmed people with a red onion or the macaroni and cheese?  Weird.
Yes, family, I have been studying.
My calculator is out and everything!  Just 2 more finals to go (Monday and Tuesday) and then I am done with winter quarter.  Woo!  Tuesday and Wednesday I am testing recipes for the upcoming cookie exchange.
My food pictures aren't that good because I can't find the charger for my camera and had to take this with my phone.  But it tasted good!  I made Alfredo rotini with herb chicken and some garlic bread.
When they visited me last week my Aunt Robin and Grandma had ideas on what I could do with the place... and Robins was brilliant!  I had this shelf and mirror on the wall but it kept falling off (both times into my dirty laundry pile, thankfully) because the 3M strips I use wouldn't adhere to the wall.  Since I don't close my center door anymore (I locked myself in my room once...) I moved the shelf and the mirror to the door.  And now it will stay!  Thanks Robin!
Finally, to appease my lovely Grandmother I did tape up the gap in my window.  I literally have not been cold in this house at all, but Grandma nearly birthed a kitten when I showed her the gap.  So I used tape and fixed it.  You see Grandma, I really do listen to you.  (:

Okay all, I am off to study some more!  Thanks for reading with me.

My weekend in pictures 11/26/2011-11/28/2011

Oh buddy, what a good weekend!  I have so much to share with all of you!

This little gem is the only picture from Thanksgiving that didn't find it's way to the blog post about Thanksgiving.  I must have overlooked it, but I wanted to post it here.  Grandma and I were putting the meringue on our pies and it was just a perfect moment.  She later 'ruined' my butterscotch pie.  (It was not ruined, but amazing.)
Lindsey's in Atlanta!  I know she's having a good time, and I want to put a little pressure on her to write us an amazing post all about it sometime soon!  For those of you who don't know she's a delegate to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta.  I'm a proud mother-brother!
 Black Friday, Black Friday...
What do you get when you combine a Tristen and I and all of the other Black Friday shoppers?  Mix in some sleep deprevation and some really good buys?  Insanity.  A lot of you have already heard the stories from our festivities, but no one has seen the pictures!  The above is a sandpaper filing organizer for the (very organized, probably homosexual) Bob Villa out there.
This is the only long line we stood in, and it was for Tractor Supply!  T needed 3 things from Sears and I wanted a coat from JCPenney's, and we had everything we came for (all 4 items!) and walked out of Penney's at 4:08am.  It was insane!
We bought Melissa some new cookware and had it wrapped in a black trashbag under the tiniest Christmas tree ever for when she woke up.  We left and did all of our shopping before the sun even came up!
Tristen bought a 255 piece tool set and I helped him put all of the pieces into their appropriate slots.  It was tedious work, and he loved it.  Melissa on the other hand, was no help at all.
I want this.  It's $20 at Sams.  I will not, however, use it for fruit and cheese.  I'm thinking... cupcakes!  We have several holiday parties coming up and I think this would be perfect for a crowded table.
This one is out of order, but T and I are assembling (some assembly required on a TOOL KIT) as Mel sleepily took our picture.
It's hard to document with a picture the amount of time I actually spend studying over the weekend.  This weekend I made flashcards for my upcoming English exam.  Here you can see some Girl Scout cookies (Brenda!) and my quilt from Grandma (a little) as well as my computer and the note cards.  I'm so studious!
I went to Grandma's for leftovers on Friday evening and Jarred, Bethany, Grandma, Grandpa and myself all watched the horse races.  Haha.  I took this one because Grandpa was using his (ever versatile) pocket knife to clean under his fingernails.
Saturday I just needed to get out of the house so Mom and I had a little adventure.  Applebees!
The question is... how does a Lightning Rod break?!
You know how life sometimes puts these people in your path just to make you stop and think "Woah, there are some really great people in this big old world"?  Well Kelley and Alan Blankenship are 2 of those people.  I loved running into them at WalMart, and catching up with them was fantastic.
We used a flashlight so this picture would turn out.  Haha.
Joy, Darlene, Emmarie, Burt, John, Delbert
(That's my Grandma and her living siblings.)
We had a Rigsby Thanksgiving dinner at my Aunt Emmarie's.  More food, more family, more desserts!
Well, Becky... you kind of made the blog!

 This is good!
Doing what I do... standing around waiting for someone from the over 70 crowd to yell "Logan, can you bring me a..."
My Aunt Aleta.  This woman can cook!
On our way back to Columbus Mom and I had a shopping adventure in Circleville WalMart and had Roosters for dinner.  I love that she labeled our to-go containers "Mine" and "Yours"
I took a nod from the Blankenships and bought a huge thing of chicken breast and broke it down into small zip-loc baggies.  Single servings!

It's been a long weekend and I'm a tired panda.  Thanks for reading along with me!
